About Us

The National Student Speech-Language-and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a student organization for Communication Sciences and Disorders majors and non-majors. Locally it provides opportunities for students to interact with others interested in the fields of Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology, to do volunteer work, and to explore issues that affect them as students and pre-professionals. NSSLHA tries to get students involved in community activities as well as within-major activities to prepare for future careers in the Health and Human Sciences profession.

Mission Statement
The mission of the National Student-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is to benefit its members by continually improving its support, promotion, and advocacy of the highest quality preparation of professionals in audiology, speech-language pathology, and speech and hearing science.

To be a member of NSSLHA, you must pay a $20.00 fee at the beginning of each year and earn 100 points throughout the academic year. There are plenty of opportunities to earn points such as guest-speakers, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, socials, pro-seminars, and meetings. If you acquire 100 points, you will receive $5.00 back and be an official active member of NSSLHA for that year!
